Back to Nature
The best way to explore the countryside is by bicycle. The area is a haven
for bird-watchers and you'll never be short of refreshments as you pass
through friendly villages along the way. The best way to cool off after a
day on a bicycle is with a dip in the refreshing waters of the Nan River. If you
are less energetic you can rent a moped enabling you to roam further afield. We also have our own fishing pier for you to use. Bamboo poles are
provided.
History
Wat Phra Si Mahathat (commonly called Wat Yai by the people) is on the
east bank of the Nan River in town. The Wihan of the temple houses what is
regarded as the most beautiful and graceful Buddha statue in Thailand. The
Folklore Museum displays the finest collection of agricultural and
household artifacts in Thailand. Pitsanulok is also the gateway to the
ancient ruins of Sukhothai; a must-see site for every visitor.
Shopping
We like to use tricycles for night tours in Pitsanulok's markets,
particularly around the river banks where a great variety of tasty dishes
can be found. An alternative to the norm is a day trip to the market town
of Phrom Phiram where you can get a taste of an authentic Thai market.
After a hard day's bargaining, what better than a traditional Thai massage
to help you relax before dinner? |
